Verification: To protect privacy, we will verify your request by matching identifying information you provide with information we maintain (e.g., email verification, login challenge, limited transactional details). If we cannot verify your identity, we may request additional information limited to what is necessary to process the request.

Authorized Agents: You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require proof of authorization and may still require you to verify your identity directly with us.

Response Time: We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable request. If reasonably necessary, we may extend once by an additional 45 days and will inform you of the reason.

Disclosures for a Business Purpose: We disclose personal information to service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, payments, customer support) under contracts restricting use of personal information to the services we request and prohibiting sale or sharing.

Personal Data of Children and COPPA Compliance

Protecting children’s privacy is of utmost importance to Next Play Education. Our Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under 13.

During the registration process for any account or service, we request a date of birth to determine eligibility.

• Children under 13: If a user indicates an age under 13, the registration process will be terminated, and no personal data will be stored.
  
  
• Minors aged 13–17: If a user indicates an age between 13 and 17, we will require verifiable parental or guardian consent via email before activating the account or collecting any personal information.

Parents or guardians who have provided consent may at any time:

• Review their child’s personal information;
  
  
• Withdraw consent and request deletion of the child’s data; or
  
  
• Request that no further collection or use of their child’s information occur.
  
  

If Next Play Education becomes aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will immediately delete such data and deactivate any associated account.

Next Play Education will not sell, trade or share a donor's personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. Next Play Education will only share personal information once the donor has given Next Play Education specific permission to do so.

Next Play Education will not sell, trade, or share any user personal information collected in association with the scholarship application process with anyone else, nor send such users mailings on behalf of other organizations. Next Play Education will only share personal information once the user has given Next Play Education permission to do so.

Next Play Education may use your personal information to:

• administer this website;
• personalize the website for you;
• enable your access to and use of the website services;
• publish information about you on the website;
• send to you products that you may choose to purchase;
• supply to you services that you may choose to purchase;
• send to you statements and invoices;
• collect payments from you;

AI Safety, Minor Protections, and Crisis Protocols (California SB 243)

Next Play Education complies with California Senate Bill 243 regarding artificial intelligence companion safety standards. The following summarizes how we manage AI-related safety, user wellbeing, and data collection related to crisis events.

AI Disclosure and Transparency: 

All users are informed that NPE AI chatbots and related services are AI systems, not human beings. This disclosure appears both at the start of interactions and periodically within sessions.

Minor Protections:

• Known minor users (ages 13–17) receive age-appropriate disclosures, reminders to take breaks at least every three (3) hours, and repeated notices that the NPE AI chatbot or agent is not human.
  
  
• Content filters and moderation systems are used to prevent the generation or display of sexual or explicit material in any interaction with minors.
  
  
• No persistent personal data is collected from minors beyond what is required for age verification, consent management, and delivery of NPE AI as described in NPE’s Terms of Service.

Crisis Detection and Referral:

• If a user expresses thoughts of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or emotional crisis, NPE AI will present a neutral, supportive message directing the user to trusted crisis resources such as the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741).
  
  
• The system will not engage in advice, encouragement, or detailed conversation about self-harm or suicide.
  
  
• Each event triggers an internal, anonymous system log for compliance reporting, without storing or associating any personal identifiers with the detected message.

Data Collection and Reporting:

• The only data recorded in these events are timestamped, anonymized metadata needed for statistical reporting.
  
  
• No identifiable information related to a crisis message is stored.
  
  
• Beginning July 1, 2027, Next Play Education will submit an annual report to the California Office of Suicide Prevention summarizing the number of crisis referral notifications, evidence-based detection methods, and measures taken to restrict AI-generated content about suicidal ideation.

A summary of Next Play Education’s crisis-response and minor-safety protocols is available at www.mynextplay.ai/safety, which may be updated periodically as evidence-based practices evolve.

Next Play Education is committed to designing AI systems that promote positive engagement, prevent harmful overuse, and uphold user autonomy, particularly for minors.
